Khaptad National Park





Khaptad National Park lies of the main Himalayan range in far western Nepal, some 446km by air from Kathmandu. The park represents western mid-mountain ecosystem. It lies at the junction of four districts of Seti zone - Doti, Bajhang, Bajura and Accham districts and covers an area of 225 sq. km. Khaptad Daha, a shallow lake lies at an altitude of 3050 m. on the north - eastern part of the park. The Park harbors diverse habitats which includes coniferous forest, hardwood, scrub and grassland. A total of 217 species of birds, 18 species of mammals, 567 species of flowering plants including 4 endemics, 15 species of butterflies have been recorded form the area. The park has cultural importance due to the presence of Shiva shrine at higher triveni, the ashram of Khaptad Swami and a temple of Khaptad Mai. Every year on a full moon day of July - August pilgrims come to worship Shiva. 
                   
Program

Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan Intl. Airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free.
Day 02
Breakfast Kathmandu city sightseeing Lunch Continue sightseeing Dinner and night halt at hotel
Day 03
Breakfast Transfer to domestic airport. fly over the Mahendra Nagar, Lunch Walk along a clear trail to the park at Jhigrana [4 hrs] Night stop at Jhigrana, Dinner [Dal-bhat-tarkari tipical Nepali's foods supply by our staffs]
Day 04
Breakfast Trek start from Jhigrana to village Chorpani [3 hrs] Lunch,Trek to Chorpani to Khaptad National Park back to
Chorpani and over night at camp.
Day 05
National Park Program end Back to Jhigrana about
7 hour's trek Night stop at Jhigarana

Day 06
Break fast Walk 3 hrs from Jhigrana to Mahendranagar airport Fly back to Kathmandu Overnight at hotel
Day 07
Breakfast and transfer to Intl Airport to next destination.

Description
Seti -Mahakali Rajya(Far-Western Region) is one of Nepal's 11th  state in Nepal. It is located at the western end of the country with headquarters at Dipayal.

It comprises two zones :
* Mahakali
* Seti

The Far Western Region of Nepal is sometimes called the Doti region, which some believe originated from 'Dovati' meaning land between two rivers. Others believe it originated from the Hindu god Dev, and aatavi, meaning the place of re-creation. The area's history goes back to the 13th century when Niranjan Malldeo founded the Doti Kingdom following the fall of the Katyuri Kings. Dotiyali and Kumauni is spoken in the Far Western Region. Deuda,Jhoda, Chhpeli, Chhaliya, Bhada etc. are traditional dance of the region and Gaura or Gamara is the biggest festival of the region...
